The purpose of present study is to identify whether the North Korean defectors in South Korea have internal forces for psychosocial crisis that they might experience by using Patton¡¯s thematic analysis method (2002). Total number of the study participants was 9 (4 man, 5 women), who all had marital experience, lived in South Korea 3-7years and entered South Korea since 2000. The result of the study showed that the defectors¡¯ability to overcome psychosocial crisis could be divided into one¡¯s internal realm and social relationship realm, and that the defectors had positive forces. The internal realm included positive sub-themes such as the ¡®ability to accept¡¯, ¡®ability to respect oneself¡¯ and ¡®ability to endure¡¯, and social relationship realm included three sub-themes such as ¡®ability to contact¡¯, ¡®ability to expose¡¯ and ¡®ability to connect¡¯. We could identify the defectors¡¯ individual force to maintain daily life in South Korea at times of psychological, mental and social crisis, and also ascertain the detailed themes about their positive individual force.
